Zambrano's Hat Trick Leads Orange Past Colgate

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A hat trick by Carlos Zambrano gave Syracuse its first win at home this season against Colgate, 3-0. Head coach Ian McIntyre collected his 142nd win with the Orange, making him the winningest coach in program history.Â

ZAMBRANO'S HAT TRICKÂ
Zambrano scored his first two goals 2:21 apart from each other. The midfielder's first goal was off a penalty kick when Colgate's Ethan Harris received a foul for tripping Sachiel Ming in the 58th minute.Â
In the 60th minute, Zambrano took a corner kick and scored when his shot arced inside the far post to give Syracuse a 2-0 lead.Â
Zambrano capped his hat trick with a left footed shot into the back corner of the net in the 66th minute, marking him as the first Orange player to score a hat trick since Ryan Raposo's against North Carolina on Oct. 19, 2019.Â

MCINTYRE MAKES HISTORYÂ
McIntyre passed Dean Foti for the most wins in program history. Foti recorded 141 wins from 1991-2009. McIntyre now has an all-time record at Syracuse of 142-102-52. McIntyre has led the Orange to a national championship in 2022 along with two ACC titles in 2015 and 2022 and eight NCAA Tournament appearances. Â
