SYRACUSE IN HOME OPENERS
• Syracuse is 95-34-4 in home openers – a record that excludes the 1979 season when the Orange played all their games on the road due to the construction of the Dome – and the 1889 season when Syracuse did not play a home game.
• Since the Dome opened in 1980, 'Cuse is 26-19 in home starters.Â
• Syracuse has won 10 of its last-12 home openers.
EVERY 'CUSE CLICK COUNTS
• Can't make it to the Dome? You can catch Saturday's game on ACCNX or ESPN+ through the ESPN app.Â
• There are more ways than ever that fans can have a direct financial impact on Syracuse Athletics, one of which is by making sure you watch every game you can't attend. Television ratings now have an impact on revenue distribution in the ACC. Make sure you're always watching the Orange, whether from the Dome or at home, because Every 'Cuse Click Counts.
SERIES HISTORY
• Syracuse and UConn for the second-straight year and 14th time overall when they take the field Saturday. Syracuse leads the series, 7-6. The Orange have outscored UConn, 201-93 in the last five meetings, all of which were 'Cuse wins.
• The squads played every season from 2004 to 2012 as members of The BIG EAST Conference.
TOUGH SLATE
• Syracuse is one of two teams that will face four opponents this season that played in last year's College Football Playoff. The Orange will face Tennessee, Clemson, SMU and Notre Dame, all on the road. Mississippi State will also face four CFP teams from a year ago (Arizona State, Tennessee, Texas, Georgia), but all four will be played at home.
• The Orange's home slate is difficult too. All-five FBS opponents that visit the Dome this year are coming off a bowl appearance in 2024.Â
A WIN WOULD …Â
• Give Syracuse a win in its home opener for the 11th time in the last 13 years.
• Improve head coach Fran Brown's record to 2-0 in home openers.
• Give Syracuse its 765th all-time victory (includes 11 wins from 2004-06 that were vacated by the NCAA). The Orange currently rank 21st on the FBS ledger of winningest programs. Syracuse is one of 37 FBS schools to have accumulated 700+ wins.
