
'Cuse Downs Robert Morris On the Road

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Syracuse women's ice hockey team earned its third consecutive victory with a 3-0 road shutout of Robert Morris Friday evening.
Syracuse (11-11-3, 7-6-2) earned their first win at Robert Morris this season. The Orange dominated early, building a 3-0 lead in the first period before the defense and Ava Drabyk locked down the final 40 minutes to secure the road victory.
Robert Morris (10-13-2, 6-7-2) failed to generate offense and put points on the board in the shutout loss. Maggie Hatch took the loss in net with 20 saves on the evening.
How It Happened
- Makenna Williment opened the scoring at 4:26 of the first period with her first goal of her career, assisted by Sami Gendron and Mik Todd.
- Charlotte Hallett extended the advantage to 2-0 at 8:02 of the opening frame, with assists from Jessica Cheung and Heidi Knoll.
- Peyton Armstrong capped the first-period scoring with a power-play goal at 12:44, assisted by Emma Gnade and Maya D'Arcy.
- Drabyk and the Orange defense shut down Robert Morris over the final two periods, holding the Colonials to just 11 shots and preserving the shutout.
Behind the Numbers
- Drabyk's 19-save shutout was her second consecutive clean sheet.
- The Orange have now recorded back-to-back shutouts for the first time this season.
- Hallett recorded her sixth goal of the season and has now scored in two straight games.
