MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The Syracuse women's ice hockey team earned a 2-0 road shutout of Robert Morris Saturday afternoon. Improving to a four-game win streak with three shutouts in that span.

Syracuse (12-11-3, 8-6-2 AHA) secured the conference victory behind strong defensive play throughout. The Orange broke through with Rachel Walsh's second-period goal before the defense and Ava Drabyk locked down the final period to secure the road victory.

Robert Morris (10-14-2, 6-8-2 AHA) failed to generate offense and put points on the board in the shutout loss. Maggie Hatch took the loss in net with 27 saves on the afternoon.

How It Happened

Syracuse outshot Robert Morris 9-7 in the opening period while successfully killing off three penalties. The Orange's penalty kill held strong to keep the game scoreless through 20 minutes.
The Orange broke through at the 11:38 mark of the second period when Rachel Walsh scored her second goal of the season from the blue line, after Nea Tervonen won a faceoff in the circle.
Jackson Kinsler sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 19:27.5, assisted by Jessica Cheung.

Drabyk had 19 saves for her 5th shutout of the season.
Tervonen led the Orange in the faceoff circle going 12 for 23, and added an assist on Walsh's goal.
