RALEIGH, N.C.- The Orange women's basketball team (21-6, 11-5) fell to NC State (18-9, 11-5) on the road, 82-69. Uche Izoje led the team, collecting 26 points and tallying 14 rebounds for her 11th double-double of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Izoje started the game off for the Orange, scoring a jumper in the opening possession. Dominique Darius snapped the Wolfpack's 7-0 scoring streak, hitting a three-pointer from the corner. Laila Phelia added another bucket from beyond the arc, and Shy Hawkins made a deep jumper to give Syracuse the lead back. NC State continued on another scoring streak, leaving the Orange trailing 26-14 after the first quarter.

Izoje led the team, scoring three field goals for the Orange to start the second quarter. Darius hit her second three-pointer of the day, and Hawkins and Izoje each scored on fastbreaks. Darius closed the quarter out with a jumper, but SU still trailed 46-29 heading into the locker room.

Syracuse entered the court for the third quarter scoring seven points in under a minute. A wide-open Sophie Burrows hit a three-pointer to help cut into the Wolfpack's lead. Izoje scored three field goals as Burrows hit another bucket from beyond the arc. The Orange outscored NC State 24-20 in the quarter, but SU still lagged behind the Wolfpack 66-53.

In the final 10 minutes of play, Darius put up nine points, scoring seven of those points from the line. Phelia added a shot from beyond the arc, while Izoje added two jumpers to the score. The Orange fought tough, but were unable to overcome the Wolfpack, falling 82-69 on the road.

OF NOTE

Uche Izoje recorded her 11th double-double of the season, scoring 26 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
Izoje has scored 20 points or more for the sixth time this season.
Dominique Darius' 19-point performance was her 12th game scoring 15+ points.
Laila Phelia's 11-point game is the 19th time she has scored in double digits this season.
