
Women’s Rowing Set to Begin NCAA Championships Friday

The No. 11 ranked Syracuse women's rowing team is set to compete in its sixth consecutive NCAA Championship meet this weekend. The event is being held at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Georgia with heat racing set to take place on Friday, May 29 followed by the semifinals on Saturday, May 30 before concluding with the finals on Sunday, May 31.
Syracuse was selected as an at-large and is one of 22 programs competing in Georgia this weekend. The Orange are one of five ACC teams represented, with Stanford, California, Miami and Virginia also making the trip. The NCAA Championships feature three boats, with two eights and one boat of four.
Syracuse will race in heat one in the V8 and 2V8 while the V4 will launch in the fourth heat. The V8 will start at 9:48 a.m. alongside Michigan, Washington, Tennessee and Oregon State. The 2V8 will begin at 10:36 a.m. and go up against UCF, Stanford, Tennessee and Ohio State. The V4 will close out heat racing with a noon start alongside Jacksonville, Oregon State, Rutgers, Tennessee and UMass.
The semifinal races will begin at 8:12 a.m. and conclude with the last race set to start at 10:24 a.m. Sunday's finals will operate on the same schedule. Specific times and heats for each subsequent day will be announced following the conclusion of the previous day's racing.
Racing will be streamed live on NCAA.com while live results will be available on the NCAA Rowing Championships app. Fans are encouraged to download the NCAA Rowing Championships app on their mobile devices for the most up-to-date heat sheets and results.
