Syracuse Softball Adds Corey Hart as Assistant Coach

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Syracuse Softball has announced the hiring of former Major League Baseball hitting coach Corey Hart as an assistant coach.
Hart spent 18 years as a professional hitting coach across three Major League organizations — the Toronto Blue Jays, Miami Marlins, and Milwaukee Brewers. He instructed hitters at every level of the minor league system, from Low-A to Triple-A, as well as spending time with Major League rosters.
Most recently, Hart served as hitting coach for the Toronto Blue Jays organization from 2016 to 2024, where he worked with hitters at the Florida State League (Dunedin Blue Jays), Triple-A (Buffalo Bisons), and Major League levels. His tenure included stints with the Blue Jays' big-league club in 2019 and 2020.
Prior to Toronto, Hart spent seven seasons (2009–2015) as a hitting coach in the Miami Marlins organization, where he helped guide the Jacksonville Suns to a 2010 Southern League Championship. He also coached in the Arizona Fall League with the Surprise Saguaros, earning a Rising Stars Game selection, and with the Jupiter Hammerheads in the Florida State League. Hart began his coaching career with the Milwaukee Brewers organization in 2006, working with the Brevard County Manatees and West Virginia Power.
Hart earned All-Big 12 Conference honors as a senior third baseman at Oklahoma after hitting .347 and driving in 69 runs. He was chosen in the 23rd round of the 1998 amateur draft by the Kansas City Royals. After beginning his pro career with the Spokane Indians, he went on to play for the Charleston Alley Cats, the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the Wichita Wranglers, the Omaha Royals, the Nashville Sounds and the Bridgeport Bluefish. In all, Hart played in 714 minor league games.
