Darren Bennett<br>Second Year at SU

Darren Bennett joined the Orangewomen coaching staff in June of 2000 after serving as an assistant coach at Temple for the previous two seasons. Bennett coaches the post players, handles recruiting duties, team travel and scheduling of opponents. In addition, he serves as assistant director of the SU Girls Basketball Camp.
Bennett was also part of the coaching staff that led the BIG EAST All-Stars to a perfect 6-0 record on its exhibition tour of Germany during the summer of 2001.
At Temple, Bennett was responsible for recruiting, scouting opponents, coaching the perimeter players and coordinating defensive game plans. In addition, he coordinated team travel and scheduling of non-conference opponents. Bennett also implemented pre- and post-season conditioning.
Bennett earned his bachelor’s degree in health and fitness from Springfield College in 1995, and his Master’s degree in health education in 1997. Bennett was a member of Springfield’s football squad for four years, and the basketball team for three years.
In 1997-98, he served as an assistant coach at his alma mater as well as taught health at Kiley Middle School in Springfield.
