Junior kicker Shane Laisle converted a 45-yard field goal for URI in the second quarter. It was the longest of his career and marked the seventh-longest field goal in school history.
Sophomore running back Jason Ham recorded his first career game with 100+ rushing yards. He finished the game with 103 yards on eight carries and had a career-long 52-yard rush in the second quarter.
Senior tight end Michael Peterson made his first career catch since switching positions from linebacker to tight end this season. In the second quarter against Syracuse, Peterson caught a 36-yard pass.
Sophomore running back Justin Westley scored his third touchdown of the season and fourth of his career in the second quarter.
Freshman quarterback Jayson Davis made his third career start. He completed seven-of-12 passes in the first half for 145 yards, including a career-long 47-yard toss to Wendall Williams in the second quarter. Davis tallied his fourth TD of the season on a four-yard quarterback draw in the second quarter. He rushed eight times for seven yards in the first half and also performed a quick kick (punt) for the Rams - his first-ever punt in a college game.
Sophomore quarterback Ray Barker started the second half for Rhode Island. It was his fifth appearance in a game for the Rams, second this season. He played in three games last season. In the third quarter against Syracuse, Barker threw his first career interception. He fumbled a ball in the fourth quarter that was returned by Syracuse for a touchdown.
In the fourth quarter, junior defensive back Victor Crenshaw picked off his first pass of the season. It was his fourth career interception.
Junior running back Wendall Williams recorded 179 all-purpose yards against the Orangemen - 88 yards on five kick returns, 31 yards rushing on four carries and 60 receiving yards on two receptions.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Jordan Bowers saw his first collegiate action in the fourth quarter against Syracuse.
