Syracuse vs. Cornell Men's Lacrosse Quotes
Coach Desko's assessment of the game:
"I thought we got out to a good start, which we wanted to do, especially here in the Carrier Dome, and put some points up on the scoreboard. I thought Cornell did a good job of getting the tempo back probably more to where they would have liked it to have been earlier. They slowed it down a little bit and had some good possessions and picked away at us a little. We weren't able to keep the tempo going like we wanted to. After halftime, we tried to get some things going. In the second half, we had a little flurry. Sean did a real nice job and put some points up on the scoreboard for us to give us a little bit of a cushion and make us more comfortable. Man-up I thought was good today. We were four-for-five in man-up situations."
Coach Desko on rebounding after the early season losses:
"I thought last Saturday we really put a good game together on the road. We had one day of practice, we had Sunday off so we only had one practice to prepare for the Big Red, and likewise, the same for them - they didn't have a lot of time to prepare either. But to get by with the "W's" in such a short period of time is good. Now we have to get ready for Rutgers. We have a couple days. We are going in the right direction, we just want to keep improving."
Desko on the development of his midfielders:
"We graduated our whole first midfield. We knew coming into the season that we really needed to see some midfielders step up and fill those spots and to step in as scoring midfielders for us. I think with Sean and Steve and now Brian Crockett, it's a real nice midfield combination and it just keeps getting better and better as the year goes on."
Sean Lindsay on his confidence level:
"I've been shooting the ball well all year. I have a lot of confidence when I shoot now, a lot more than I had when I was a freshman, and even last year."
