Senior forward Hakim Warrick
On Craig Forth:
“It was great for him to get a big game like that for us and I just feel happy for him. It shows us how good we can be. We just need to go out there and just play. Sometimes we think too much.”
On the game:
“I think we took another step forward. It was a good game. They are a good team, I think they will be a tournament team. They won 22 games last year, so it is good to go out there and get a good win against a quality team.”
On the team’s patience tonight:
“We had easier shots and a lot more motion tonight. We had balanced scoring and when we get that – it is tough to beat us. It was definitely a really good game for us.”
Junior guard Gerry McNamara
On the difference from the last couple games:
“The difference is that I have been back and playing. It is tough for me to not play in awhile. I had a few bad games and I will be the first to tell you that. I am my biggest critic. I am happy with the way I played overall in the game.”
On how close he was to a triple double:
“Just to contribute on the defensive rebounds is what I am happy about. We rely a little too much on our forwards and we did a better job tonight in getting the long ones.”
On Craig Forth:
“He is a beast. I told him at halftime to be a beast in the second half. When he put that dunk down and got the and-one – I said ‘you’re a beast.’ That is the type of player that he has to be. He has to be the guy that no one wants to play against and be a bruiser. He played as good in the second half as I have ever seen him play. I am just so happy for him. To see the fans get up and cheer for, that means a lot to us. He busts his tail every day in practice – a lot of people don’t realize what he gives our team. For the fans to stand up and cheer like that, it gave me chills. I can’t imagine what his family and he were feeling.”
Senior center Craig Forth
On his second half performance:
“It was probably one of the best halves of basketball that I have played in a long time. My teammates stuck with me and the coaches kept me in the game and I was able to capitalize on it.”
On his offensive aggression:
“I don’t know. I need to keep that up though. I just wanted to dunk and dunk and dunk. I was having fun with it so I just went out there and did it. I think it was the first time this year that I smiled on the court. I enjoyed myself and I am glad it happened.”
On the crowd:
“They did not stop cheering. It was great.”
