In 1985, Green was ECAC Player of the Year and a finalist for the Vince Lombardi Award, which recognizes the most outstanding lineman or linebacker. Green ranks first on Syracuse’s all time career sacks list with 45.5, and is the top tackler among down lineman with 341 stops. He had a team high of 13.5 sacks and 88 tackles. He played with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. Green was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2001. He was also named to Syracuse University's All-Century team in November, 1999.
