Syracuse vs. Seton Hall
Carrier Dome, Syracuse, N.Y.
January 29, 2006
Junior Guard Louie McCroskey
On today’s game:
“It was a really tough loss today because we got off to a bad start again…This was a tough one to swallow, but I believe in our team and in my teammates. Hopefully we’ll bounce back.”
On staying positive:
“Everyone is going to be down, but you have to find within yourself…I know from experience. I think guys know that it’s a tough loss, but the good thing about it is you always have that next game, and if we make our shots hopefully we’ll be able to get a win.”
Junior Center Darryl Watkins
On what he contributed to today’s game:
“I tried to be a defensive presence and I changed up a lot of shots, so that gives us a better outcome.”
On what he can personally do to improve:
“I just have to take my time and not think about it as much. We were stuck for awhile and after those two threes….it’s hard to come back from that. I was just thinking too much, trying to do too many things at once.”
Freshman Guard Eric Devendorf
On making adjustments:
“We have to start penetrating more and getting better looks. In practice we’ll go over it again.”
On the play of Gerry McNamara:
“He has to keep shooting, and the ball will eventually go into the hoop. Unfortunately tonight his shots weren’t falling, but he has to keep shooting. That’s all you can do.”
On if this game was a confidence killer:
“It could be, but it can’t be. We have to go out there Wednesday and have a good game against Rutgers. You have to look up…We want to play our best out there.”
