Brown set the SU record for highest rush average in a season (6.2) in 1956 and for the most rushing touchdowns (6) and most points scored in a game (43) vs. Colgate in 1956. After leaving Syracuse, he played in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns from 1957 to 1965, where he scored 106 touchdowns. He was inducted into the Pro Hall of Fame in 1971 and the College Hall of Fame in 1995. He was named to Syracuse University's All-Century team in November, 1999.
