Bill Ritch was inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1972. He was a three-time All-American while at Syracuse University. He was known for his success as a high school lacrosse coach at Sewanhaka High School, in which his career record was 262-54-1. His team was undefeated for eight consecutive seasons (1948-1957), won 11 consecutive championships (1949-1959), and broke the National High School record by winning 91 consecutive games.
