Syracuse Quotes Vs. Richmond
Syracuse vs. Richmond
NCAA Tournament: First Round
November 12, 2011
College Park, Md.
Head Coach Ange Bradley
On the game:
“Richmond played a really good game and it was a tough, hard-fought game. Ultimately, we were able to open up the field and get the result that we want.”
On what the team did to prepare for the second half:
“We had to tactically adjust the shape of our ball. We practiced it all week and for some reason we didn’t do it the first half, so the second half we made those adjustments and had our forwards pop back into the pocket, which ultimately allowed us to open up the field in the second half.”
On what the team is going to do to prepare for tomorrow’s game:
“We’re going to get the kids food and get their bodies back, then watch and decide who is going to play tomorrow.”
Senior Forward Heather Susek
On the game:
“It was a slow start, but we really picked it up in the second half and we ended up with the win. We get to play again tomorrow.”
On her two goals in the game:
“The first one we built it up through the midfield and Jordan [Page] sent the ball in and I knocked it in. The second one we were dribbling down the right baseline. It was a really good play because we got a bunch of people involved and we just used quick passes to get it right passed the goalie.”
On what the team did to prepare for the second half:
“We were slow to start with so we know we needed to pick up the energy to come out with the win. We just wanted to transfer our energy really.”
On what the team needs to do to get ready for the game tomorrow:
“We need to rest our legs and get food, so we can be well rested for tomorrow.”
