Came to SU in January 2014 after playing two years at Nassau Community College on Long Island.
Senior Year (2015 at Syracuse):Β Saw action in three games as a faceoff specialist ... Won his only faceoff attempt against Siena (2/7) ... Went 1-for-1 on faceoffs against Duke (3/22) ... Also saw action against Hobart (4/14).
Junior Year (2014 at Syracuse): Appeared in six games as a faceoff specialist and was 8-for-25 (.320) at the X with four ground balls β¦ Made his Orange debut in the season opener against Siena (2/10) and set personal bests for faceoff wins (3), attempts (6) and ground balls (2) β¦ Was 2-for-5 (.400) and picked up one ground ball versus Colgate (5/3).
Junior College (2012-13 at Nassau): Two-time NJCAA All-American β¦ Led the Lions to consecutive NJCAA national title game appearances β¦ 2013 NJCAA Region XV MVP β¦ Won 78 percent of his faceoffs that were recorded (56-72), picked up 113 ground balls and tallied eight goals and two assists in 2013.
High School: Played lacrosse for four seasons at Smithtown West and was an all-county selection β¦ Posted a .575 faceoff winning percentage (177-308), collected 40 ground balls and scored one goal as a senior.
Personal: Michael R. Iacono β¦ Born in January 1992 β¦ Son of Michael and Lisa Iacono β¦ Two sisters, Nicole and Danielle, both played lacrosse at Drexel University β¦ Communication and rhetorical studies major.
