Will Loredo joined head coach Shannon Doepking's staff as an assistant coach in September 2023, bringing over two decades of coaching experience to Upstate New York.
In his first season at ‘Cuse, Loredo helped the Orange to their most wins in a season since 2018 (28), including a combined-four victories over #15 Virginia Tech and #14 Florida State. Throughout the campaign, the Orange hitters posted their best numbers since 2017, batting .282 at the plate, which led to 375 hits and 245 runs. Syracuse also played to a 0.966 fielding percentage.
Prior to his time on Skytop, Loredo served as the interim head coach at Amherst College for one season, guiding the Mammoths to a 24-13 record. Amherst also finished second in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) regular season standings with a 12-6 record in league play.
Loredo’s team had success both on the field and in the classroom as three student-athletes earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region recognition while five players were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Prior to holding the interim title at Amherst, Loredo served as an assistant coach in 2022. Amherst won its first NESCAC championship, posting a 26-9 record. The team also reached as high as No. 22 in the NFCA DIII rankings.
Loredo also had stops at the College of Southern Nevada where he served as the team’s assistant coach/catching coordinator during the 2021 season and two seasons at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps College. During those two years, Loredo served as an assistant/associate offensive coordinator for a team that was ranked fifth in the country in 2019. Loredo was also part of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Coaching Staff of the Year that year.
Loredo began his coaching career as a varsity baseball coach/associate hitting coordinator with Colton High School before transitioning to the softball field where he held various roles in youth and high school softball for over a decade.
