2006-07: Finished fourth in the one and three meter against Pittsburgh... Finished second in both the one-meter and three-meter against Colgate... Competed in the one and three-meter at the Red Fox Invitational.
2005-06: Competed in one and three meter springboard diving at the Big East Championships ... Placed second in three-meter diving and third in one-meter diving against Villanova ... Finished second in both diving events at Seton Hall ... Scored a personal best in the three-meter at Connecticut with a score of 300.38 in the three-meter diving event ... Took second on both one and three-meter against West Virginia ... Competed on both the one-meter and three-meter at the Yale Nutmeg Invitational ... Participated on the one-meter at the Nike Cup ... Posted a competivite score on the one-meter (195.14) against Pittsburgh ... Took part in the one-meter and three-meter at the Army Invitational ... Placed second on the three-meter (207.37) against Colgate, while finishing third on the one-meter.
2004-05: Finished in eighth place at the Sonny Werblin Invitational at Rutgers on the one-meter (11 dives)...posted a season-best score at the Nike Cup on the three-meter (11 dives)...finished first against Seton Hall on the three-meter with a score of 243.75 points...strong showing at Villanova with a second-place finish on both the one and three meter boards...BIG EAST Academic All-Star...Athletic Director's Honor Roll both semesters.
2003-04: Had his best three-meter dive against Connecticut with a score of 320.47...finished fourth on both dives at Seton Hall and Villanova...member of the fall and spring Athletic Director's Honor Roll...named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star.
High School: Coached by his father, Jeff Thornton, in swimming and diving at Manchester High School...served as team captain his senior year...also participated in cross country and track and field...as a senior - 9th LL diver, 12th LL and 200 FR in Connecticut...posted a top time in the 500 freestyle of 5:43...his top time in the 100 freestyle was 53.0...member of the National Honor Society, jazz ensemble and the marching band where he served as trombone section leader.
Personal: Born March 25, 1985 in Hartford, Connecticut...son of Jeff and Kathy Thornton...one brother...majoring in chemistry education.
