Getting to Know: Ashley Spicer
What was it like playing on the International Tennis Federation tours?
"It was truly an awesome experience to see players from all over the world and compete against them at a young age. Most American players never get the opportunity to see the different styles of play until the professional level and usually after college."
What are your expectations this season for the BIG EAST after competing in the Pac-10 in 2006-07?
"Our team is younger, eager, simply loves the game and thrives on competition. I think that the BIG EAST will be just as competitive as the Pac-10. I am really excited to start conference matches and we're looking forward to competing for the championship."
Why did you choose Syracuse University?
"I chose Syracuse because of its promising atmosphere. It's a great educational institution and a degree from SU is irreplaceable. Also, the tennis program is on the verge of being great, and I wanted to be a part of that. Everyone here has been amazing and I'm really glad that I made this decision.
