Hickey Inks Deal with Saints

Syracuse standout offensive lineman Sean Hickey, is the latest member of the Orange to join the NFL ranks, signing a free agent deal with the New Orleans Saints on Saturday.

An ACSMA and Coaches' All-ACC Third Team selection, Hickey has started in every game for the past three years. This past season, he was the only offensive lineman to play in every game for the Orange, starting all 12 games at left tackle this year, culminating his career by starting 38-straight games.

Hickey is the 13th member of the Orange to join the Saints in program history, most recently following in the footsteps Andrew Tiller who was drafted by the team in 2012.

A team captain this season, Hickey was awarded the Ben Schwartzwalder Exemplary Football Player Award given to the student-athlete whose leadership skills and on-field production embody the hard-nosed approach of the program at the team banquet this year. The 2014 All-ACC Academic Team honoree was one-of-two offensive players to start every game this season.

Hickey joins Eric Crume, who signed with the Jaguars and Durell Eskridge, who signed with the Jets on Saturday and Dyshawn Davis, who signed with the Washington Redskins and Cameron Lynch joined the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, in players from this year's team who inked free agent deals.
