'Cuse linebacker is the 15th former Orange to join Washington
Linebacker Dyshawn Davis has inked a free agent deal with the Washington Redskins, making him the fifth member of the 2014 Orange to join the professional ranks.
The linebacker ranks sixth on Syracuse's career tackles for loss record list (37.5), and finished second in tackles this past season (71) behind fellow linebacker Cameron Lynch. Davis started all 12 games, and led the team with seven quarterback hurries during the 2014 season.
Davis becomes the 15th member of the Orange to join the Redskins, most recently 'Cuse legend Donovan McNabb played one season at quarterback in Washington in 2010. Wide receiver and Hall of Famer Art Monk played 13 seasons for the Redskins after leaving Syracuse.
The Woodbury, N.J. native joins teammates Sean Hickey, who signed with the New Orleans Saints, Lynch, who signed with the St. Louis Rams, Eric Crume, who signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Durell Eskridge, who signed with the New York Jets in becoming members of the 2014 Orange to ink NFL free agent contracts.
Tickets for the 2015 season are available online, by phone (888-DOMETIX), at Destiny USA kiosks and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). In addition, discounted group tickets (20+), with prices as low as $10 each, are available for all home games by calling the Ticket Sales office (443-3212).
