SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University women's basketball program has achieved great success since its inception in 1971. Over the next two weeks, Cuse.com will spotlight a select alumna from the Syracuse women's basketball program daily.

Record was a member of the Syracuse University women's basketball program from 1997-2001. She ranks ninth in program history in career scoring, recording 1,285 points in 109 games for the Orange. Record was the first Syracuse player to be selected in the WNBA Draft, as well.

As a rookie, Record had an immediate impact. She played in 27 contests, starting two of them. On the year, Record averaged 3.5 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. In her collegiate debut against Radford, she scored a season-high 13 points.

Record followed up her debut season with a strong sophomore campaign. The Shortsville, N.Y. native played in all 27 games, starting 14. She ranked second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.4 points per contest. Record was a threat from deep, knocking down 44 3-point field goals. She ranked ninth in the BIG EAST in 3-point field goals made during the 1998-99 season. Record scored at least 20 points twice during the year.

In her third season on campus, Record established herself as one of the premier players in the conference. She once again played in every game, starting all but two games. She led the team and ranked second in the league in scoring, averaging 17.1 points per game. Her single season scoring average still ranks ninth in program history. For her efforts on the court, she was named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team. Her 35-point effort against Connecticut in 2000 still ranks sixth in school history, as well.

As a senior, Record was named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team for the second straight season. She led the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.0 points and 7.1 boards per contest. She capped her career with a 32-point performance against Georgetown in an overtime loss in the BIG EAST Tournament.

For her career, Record was one of the most prolific scorers in program history. She still ranks ninth in program history with 1,285 career points. Record also ranks eighth in 3-point field goals made in her collegiate career, knocking down 128 shots from downtown.
