Leary Leads German League in Rebounding

Leary played her first professional season in Germany
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Shakeya Leary '14 wrapped up her first season in the Damen-Basketball-Bundesliga in Germany with Eisvogel USC Freiburg.
In 13 games played, Leary averaged 7.7 points and 11.6 rebounds per contest. She led the Damen-Basketball-Bundesliga in boards for the 2016-17 campaign.
Leary spent the previous two seasons in the Czech Republic and Spain. She helped her teams to two seventh-place showings, averaging more than nine rebounds per game.
The Brooklyn, N.Y. product notched 757 points and 734 rebounds in 135 contests played at Syracuse. As a redshirt senior, Leary guided the Orange to their first NCAA Tournament victory against Chattanooga on March 22, 2014. She tallied a team-best 15 points and 8 rebounds in the win.
