Vucetic Earns Bronze Medal in the 100 Yard Backstroke at the Nike Cup Championship

CHAPEL HILL, NC -- Senior Josko Vucetic (Split, Croatia) captured third place in the 100-yard backstroke at the Nike Cup Championship Friday night, November 17. He swam the race in 49.89 to become Syracuse's top finisher in the meet so far.

Also on Friday night, freshman Megan Daney (Newtown, PA) turned in a ninth-place performance in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.57. Daney was part of the Orangewomen's 200-yard medley relay and 800-yard freestyle relay teams that finished eighth on Friday night.

The 200-yard medley relay team registered a time of 1:48.48, while the 800-yard freestyle relay team recorded a time of 7:45.30.

Action at the Nike Cup Championship concludes on Saturday night.
