Davis was a member of the 1959 O-Line dubbed the "Sizable Seven". SU went undefeated and finished the year as national champions led by an offense that averaged 451 yards per game. Davis earned All-America honors in 1959 and was a first round pick of the Chicago Bears in 1960. He played for the Bears from 1960-63, the Los Angeles Rams in 1964 and the New York Giants from 1965-66.
