Men's Soccer Hosts Marist

The Orangemen soccer team continues its four-game homestand Saturday, Sept. 9 when it hosts the Red Foxes of Marist. Kickoff at the Soccer Stadium at the Lampe Athletics Complex is at 1 p.m.
Syracuse is 1-1 on the season after defeating Villanova, 2-0, on Sept. 6. Sophomore midfielder Peter Lindahl and sophomore forward Guido Cristofori each scored their first goals of the season to account for the SU scoring. Freshman midfielder Ari Schneider, making his first collegiate start, was credited with two assists. Senior Kevin Bacher went the distance in goal for his first shutout of the season.
Sophomore midfielder Chris Aloisi and junior midfielder John Andrade lead the Syracuse offense with three points each in 2000. All three of Aloisi's points came versus Boston University, while Andrade scored a goal at BU and had an assist versus Villanova.
Marist enters Saturday's contest with a 1-2 mark after losing to Oneonta on Tuesday, 1-0. The Red Foxes' lone victory of the season was a 4-3 win at Army.
Joseph Crespo leads Marist in scoring with three of the team's six goals. Brian Garofola has netted two goals, while Sean Murphy has one. Carlso DeBrito has played every minute in goal for Marist. He owns a .696 save percentage with a 2.27 goals against average.
Admission to the game is $3 for adults and $1 for Syracuse students. Ages 18-and-under get in free.
