Bench Propells Orangewomen to Victory vs. St. John's

Syracuse used an 11-3 scoring run that started at the 10:17 mark to take a 48-37 advantage with a little more than five minutes to play.
Coming off the bench, freshman Julie McBride (Mechanicville, NY) led the team with 15 points, making 10-of-11 free throws. McBride, who had a game-high 6 assists, scored SU's final eight points, all from the line.
Senior reserve Paula Moore (Bridgeport, CT) had 13 points, marking the eighth time she has scored double-digits in her last nine games.
The Orangewomen brought down 33 defensive rebounds and held a 41-28 advantage on the boards. The Red Storm scored only 54 points which is the lowest point total given up by the Orangewomen in BIG EAST play this season.
With three blocks, starting center Leigh Aziz (Auburn, NY) tied her single-game career high. Aziz now leads the team with 17 blocked shots this season.
Syracuse hosts Boston College this Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 7:00 p.m. at Manley Field House.
