Four Second-Place Finishes For Orangewomen Rowing

PHILADELPHIA — The Syracuse University women's rowing team posted four second-place finishes at the Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia on Saturday, October, 27.
The Orangewomen finished second in the championship eight in 14:22.54, less than five seconds behind Pennsylvania, which won the race in 14:17.72. Two-time All-American Jillian Kott (Round Hill, VA) served as the stroke for the Orange.
In the club eight race, SU placed second with a time of 15:28.35. The boat, coxed by Marisa Begley (Folsom, NJ), finished behind the Tennessee Rowing Club.
Heather DiLoreto (East Amherst, NY) coxed Syracuse's entry into the women's four with coxswain race. SU took second place, crossing the finish line in 16:30.58, less than a second behind Boston University's 16:29.87 finish.
In the novice eight race the Orange had two top-10 finishes. Syracuse- A placed second and Syracuse B finished in eighth place.
Syracuse's novice boats will be in action at Cornell on Saturday, November 3, while the varsity boats compete at Virginia on November 10.
