
Orangewomen Varsity Eight Continues Winning Ways Defeating BU, Texas and Duke

The Orangewomen's Varsity Eight finished the 2000-meter race 1.8 seconds ahead of BU. Heather DiLoreto (East Amherst, NY) served as the coxswain. SU' first-ever first-team All-American Jillian Kott (McLean, VA) was the stroke and Meredith Kyle (Rochester, NY) was the bow. Nicole Garofalo (Liverpool, NY, Liverpool HS) rowed in the second seat for the boat, which finished in 6:45.1.
SU's second eight or junior varsity eight won its race defeating BU, Texas and Duke, in that order. The Orangewomen finished a little more than 10 seconds ahead of the second place BU boat. Lesly Wolf (Syracuse, NY, Henninger HS) rowed in the fifth seat, while Seana Miller (West Redding, CT) was the stroke.
Lisa Fackler (Hunt Valley, MD) was the coxswain and Nikki Kuczek (Liverpool, NY, Liverpool HS) and Emily Havalchak (Corning, NY) were the stroke and bow, respectively, for Syracuse's Varsity Four boat which finished first in its race. Duke finished second in the varsity four race, while Syracuse's Varstiy B boat placed third.
The Orangewomen rowing team's next race is April 7 against Cornell and Yale at Derby, CT.
