Orange Tennis Posts Sweep at Seton Hall

SU stifled Seton Hall's (3-10, 0-2) doubles teams, sweeping all three matches. Seniors Michelle Neveklovska (West Vancouver, British Columbia) and Zuzanna Borucka (Gdansk, Poland) blanked Kyli Lassalle and Kim Barfuss, 8-0, at first doubles. Sophomores Masha Kabanova (Moscow, Russia) and Shervin Saedinia (Woodland Hills, CA) earned their team-high 11th doubles win of the season, defeating Nicole Cercone and Jasmine Wolcott, 8-4, at the number two slot. Junior Katie Thompson (Wesley Chapel, FL) and freshman Zani Suttle (Roswell, GA) won at No. 3 doubles, 8-3.
Syracuse won five of its six singles matches in straight sets. Neveklovksa earned her 142nd career victory, defeating Lassalle 6-1, 6-1. Neveklovska is fifth on the SU all-time wins list, 10 wins behind fourth-place Stephanie Rice (1983-87). Borucka posted a three-set win at number two against Barfuss, 6-4, 0-6, 6-3. Kabanova dealt Cercone a 6-3, 6-0 win at number three. Saedinia's 6-3, 6-3 win against Wolcott at number four was her 33rd of the season. Thompson recorded a 6-0, 6-2 win at number five, while Suttle earned a 6-1, 6-3 win at the No. 6 slot against Beth Dugan.
The Orangewomen play their final home match of the season April 7 against Boston University. The match is slated for a 10 a.m. start at the Drumlins Tennis Center on Nottingham Road.
