Omanovic Signs With Orangewomen

Syracuse University and head women’s basketball coach Marianna Freeman have announced that Maja Omanovic has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Orangewomen.
Omanovic, a 6-4 post player, has played the past two seasons at New Mexico Junior College. Last season the Mostar, Bosnia native played in 23 games, starting 18, and averaged 7.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
“We’ve got an outstanding student-athlete,” Freeman said. “Maja’s got great size and good skills and she understands the game very well. We look forward to having her join our family.”
Syracuse finished the 2000-01 season with an overall record of 12-15 and a 6-10 mark in the BIG EAST.
