
Orangewomen Lacrosse Hires New Assistant Coach

SYRACUSE, NY -- Syracuse head women’s lacrosse coach Lisa Miller has announced the hiring of Amy Zimmer as the Orangewomen’s new assistant coach. Zimmer will assist in all aspects of the program, including working with the offense and recruiting.
Zimmer, a 2001 graduate of Dartmouth College, was a four-year starter for the Big Green who won four straight Ivy League Championships and advanced to the NCAA Final Four in 1998. Zimmer earned All-Ivy honors all four years, including first-team recognition her senior year. She was also named second-team All-America by Brine/IWCLA and honorable mention by U.S. Lacrosse. As captain her senior year, Zimmer was the second-leading scorer on the team with 28 goals and 22 assists and was one of the nation’s leaders in ground balls, finishing second during the regular season with 4.88 per game. In addition to the NCAA Final Four appearance in 1998, Zimmer also played in the NCAA quaterfinals in 1999 and 2001 and the first round in 2000.
Zimmer coached camps this past summer at Syracuse, Virginia, Duke and Hot Shots Lacrosse Camp in Alexandria, VA. She worked the Dartmouth Lacrosse Camp in 1999 and 2000.
A native of Alexandria, VA, Zimmer graduated from Dartmouth with a bachelor’s degree in English modified with Art History.
