
Muchnick and Vandiver Selected by California Palms in WLL Draft

Emma Muchnick and Coco Vandiver from Syracuse Women's Lacrosse both heard their names called in the WLL Draft on Wednesday evening, both selected by the California Palms.

Muchnick, a senior midfielder, was selected with the ninth overall pick. She has amassed 71 goals and 21 assists in her collegiate career, spending the last three in Syracuse after playing with Maryland in her freshman season. A true two-way midfielder, Muchnick has logged 25 caused turnovers in her career, including a career-high 10 this season, to go with 57 ground balls. Muchnick was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List at the start of the season.

Vandiver was selected by the Palms with the 16th overall pick. The senior defender has etched her name in the Syracuse record book, owning a program record 114 caused turnovers in her career. She currently has 40 caused turnovers and is 11th in the nation in caused turnovers per game at 2.67. She is also the only player in program history to record 40 or more caused turnovers in multiple seasons. Vandiver was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List and was also a Nike Midseason All-American.

The WLL's inaugural regular season opens with the Boston Guard taking on the New York Charging at WLL Opening Weekend on May 15 at Centreville Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The Palms will take on the Maryland Charm on Friday, May 29 at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Maryland.
