
Orangewomen Basketball Announces 2001-02 Schedule

Syracuse opens the season with a three-game California road trip. The Orangewomen make their 2001-02 debut on Saturday, Nov. 17 at Long Beach State. SU will also play at Cal State-Northridge on Monday, Nov. 19 and at Pepperdine on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
The Orangewomen will play 13 home games this season, starting with NCAA qualifier Michigan on Sunday, Nov. 25. Other non-conference home games include matchups with St. Bonaventure (Dec. 7), Harvard (Dec. 20), Vermont (Dec. 29) and San Francisco (Jan. 2). SU will play non-conference road games at Auburn (Nov. 29), at South Carolina (Dec. 2) and at Cincinnati (Jan. 8).
The BIG EAST portion of the schedule gets underway on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Seton Hall. The Orangewomen have exactly one month before resuming the conference slate, taking on Virginia Tech in Blacksburg on Jan. 5.
The Orangewomen will play home-and-home series with the Hokies, Providence and Villanova. SU must also travel to Miami, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame and Boston College, while Georgetown, Rutgers, Connecticut, West Virginia and St. John's all visit Manley Field House. The BIG EAST Tournament is slated for March 2-5 at Rutgers.
Syracuse will play two exhibition games. The Orangewomen will take on the Noreastern Storm on Friday, Nov. 2 and the NWBL Elite on Friday, Nov. 9.
