Adrian and Grimaldi Earn ECAC Track & Field Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse University junior Tim Adrian (Moorpark, Calif./Moorpark) and freshman Jenna Grimaldi (San Mateo, Calif./St. Ignatius) were named ECAC Field Athletes of the Week for their performances at the Husky Invitational in Boston on Friday, Jan. 25.

Grimaldi won the high jump and set a meet record with a height of 5'10.75" (1.81m), surpassing the old height of 5'10.00". With her performance, Grimaldi provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship. She has also qualified for the BIG EAST and ECAC Championships.

Adrian won the shot put with a season-best throw of 54'3.25" (16.54m). The mark qualifies him automatically for the BIG EAST and IC4A Championships. This is the fifth time Adrian has won the award.

Both Adrian and Grimaldi will be competing at the Syracuse Invitational at Manley Field House on Sunday, Feb. 3. The field events start at 8 a.m., with the running events beginning at 11:30 a.m.
