Notre Dame Defeats Orangewomen, 3-0

SYRACUSE, NY - Freshman Kristen Conway (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) and sophomore Morgan Jones (Malad, ID/Malad) each posted 15 kills in Syracuse’s 3-0 loss to Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon in the Women’s Building.
The Fighting Irish (21-5) remained undefeated in the BIG EAST with an 11-0 record, while Syracuse (19-10) stands at 5-6 in the conference.
Notre Dame hit .333 as a team compared to SU’s .143 attack percentage. The Fighting Irish outblocked the Orangewomen 16-6.
Freshman Aila Dommestrup (Ottawa, Ontario/Sir Robert Borden) dished out 35 assists and recorded five digs in the loss. Senior Abby Van Mater (West Chester, PA/Unionville) led SU with four total blocks.
Katie Neff led Notre Dame with 13 kills and four total blocks. Lauren Kelbely recorded 10 kills on 14 attempts with one error for a .643 attack percentage and chipped in five total blocks.
Syracuse returns to action on Friday, Nov. 15 when it faces Virginia Tech on the road at 7 p.m.
