Orangemen Varsity Eight Defeats Boston University

Senior Eric Miller (Syracuse, NY/Henninger) serves as coxswain for the varsity eight, and senior Andy Berster (Sarasota, FL/Riverview) is the stroke. Other members of the varsity eight are Kevin Klein (Drexel Hill, PA), Matt Heumann (Burnt Hill, NY/BHBL), Chris Liwski (Sarasota, FL/Riverview), Steve Boselli (Bedford, NH), Andrew Wright (Burlington, Ontario, Canada/Nelson), John Merzig (Albany, NY/Shaker) and Jason Boucier (Greenland, NH/Portsmouth Senior).
The Orangemen also won the junior varsity eight race with a time of 6:27.6. Boston University was second in 6:31.4. The Terriers swept the two freshman races. BU won the freshman eight race with a time of 6:24.4 followed by Syracuse in 6:35.9. In the second freshman eight, Boston University was first with a time of 6:50.7, while SU was second in 7:01.4.
Syracuse will have a week off before it competes for Ten Eyck trophy at Rutgers on Saturday, April 13.
