Orangemen Earn BIG EAST Awards Trifecta

Three Orangemen won weekly awards from The BIG EAST Conference for their performance in SU’s 39-14 victory against Boston College. Senior quarterback R.J. Anderson (Plainville, Conn.) is the co-Offensive Player of the Week, sophomore linebacker Kellen Pruitt (Clinton, Md.) is the co-Defensive Player of the Week and sophomore strong safety Anthony Smith (Hubbard, Ohio) is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Anderson accounted for four touchdowns, completed 20-of-27 passes for 215 yards and threw no interceptions. Pruitt paced the defense that held the nation’s leading rusher to just 51 yards. He had seven tackles, including five solo, and had one quarterback sack. Smith blocked a punt and then returned it for a touchdown.
