"We feel very fortunate that we are getting a coach with the background and experience that Todd Littlejohn has," Pasqualoni said. "He played a big part in the defensive turnaround at UCLA during his tenure on the staff. He has accumulated a tremendous amount of experience coaching against the offensive multiplicity that exists in the PAC 10.
"Todd's a high-energy guy who will contribute a great deal to our program."
While on the staff at UCLA, Littlejohn tutored Ricky Manning, a three-time All-PAC 10 selection. The Bruins led the conference in total defense and passing efficiency defense, and ranked second in scoring defense, in Littlejohn's first season. UCLA was 8-5 and won the Las Vegas Bowl in 2002. In 2001 the team posted a 7-4 mark.
Littlejohn coached wide receivers and special teams for two seasons at Utah State (1998-99). He was appointed assistant coach in charge of defensive backs and special teams at San Jose State in 2000. The Spartans led the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) with 15 interceptions and the secondary ranked fourth in the WAC in pass efficiency, that season.
The following season Littlejohn was defensive coordinator and director of player personnel with the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League. He joined the UCLA staff in February 2001.
He began his coaching career in 1990 as an assistant coach at Bakersfield College (Cal.). He moved on to Western State College for two seasons and then, in 1994, served as an assistant at Mount San Antonio College (Cal.).
Following two seasons in private business, he returned to the coaching ranks at DeAnza College (Cal.).
He was a two-time letterwinner and a 1987 honorable mention All-American at defensive back for West Texas State. He earned first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors both years. He transferred to Fresno State where he played football and baseball. Littlejohn earned a bachelor's degree from Fresno State in 1989.
He and his wife, Toi-Yan, have two daughters, Aundria and Aniya. He also has an older daughter, Kayla.
