Cross Country Teams Earn Academic Awards

The women's team was named an All-Academic Cross Country Team, With Distinction, for maintaining a cumulative team grade point average of 3.25 or higher. Eighty-three women’s teams earned the distinction, while 118 earned recognition for maintaining a 3.0 GPA or above. More than 300 hundred schools participate in Division I women's cross-country.
It is the fifth consecutive year the women's team has been honored by the USCCCA.
The men's squad ranked 26th in the country in team GPA. Seventy-five schools were recognized for posting a team GPA greater than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Junior John Bitok was named to the USCCCA's All-Academic Team. Bitok was recently honored by SU with the 2003 Hisako Fujitsuka Award for Outstanding International Service and Caring by the University's Slutzker Center for International Services.
