
Orangewomen Take On No. 1 Loyola On Saturday In The Dome

The Syracuse University women’s lacrosse team puts its 12-game winning streak in the Dome on the line on Saturday when the Orangewomen host No. 1 Loyola at 5 p.m.
The Greyhounds (13-0) are the only undefeated team in Division I women’s lacrosse.
The Orangewomen (9-4) are 0-4 against No. 1 teams. All four losses, including one at home, came at the hands of Maryland. SU lost to the Terrapins, 24-11, in the Carrier Dome on March 12, 2000.
Junior defender Jacquelyn Walker’s sister, Stephanie, is a midfielder for the Greyhounds. The two sisters attended Charles W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville, NY. Jacquelyn has started all 13 games for the Orangewomen at defense in 2003.
The No. 11 Orangewomen lost to Boston University, 7-6, on Sunday, April 20. Sophomore Monica Joines led SU against BU with four goals. Joines has scored 15 goals in the last five games. She is second on the team with 35 points and 30 goals and five assists.
