
Women's Soccer Loses, 1-0, at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY N.J. – The Syracuse women’s soccer team lost at Rutgers, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, N.J. The Orange is 6-5-2, 1-4-1 in the BIG EAST. Rutgers improves to 8-7, 3-3 in the conference.
Kim Mineo scored in the 57th minute to give Rutgers a 1-0 advantage. The Orange could not get going offensively, managing only three shots on the day.
SU held a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks, but Rutgers’ 12-3 advantage in shots was too much for the Orange. Senior goalie Shannon Myers recorded five saves increasing her career total to 217. Rutgers’ goalie Robyn Jones had three saves in the shutout.
The Orange returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at home versus Cornell at 5:30 p.m. The men’s soccer team will take the field at 8 p.m. against Hartwick.
