Simon Named Scholar-Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore Katie Simon, a member of Orange cross country team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 1.
Simon was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll both of her freshman semesters and was selected a 2003 BIG EAST Academic All-Star. Simon is majoring in English and textual studies.
The Orange women’s cross country team finished 10th at the BIG EAST Championships on Friday, Oct. 29. The women improved two spots from their 12th-place finish last year. Syracuse prepares for the NCAA Regional on Nov. 13 and the ECAC/IC4A Championships on Nov. 20.
