
SU Track and Field Team to Compete at Bucknell

The Orangemen are coming off a successful showing at the Syracuse Invitational, where the men boasted victories in three events. Sophomore Chris Muldoon won the 3,000-meter run with a BIG EAST- and IC4A-qualifying time of 8:27.84. Junior Valerij Petrulevich qualified for the league and regional meets with his first-place time of 2:29.03 in the 1,000-meter run. In the shot put, graduate student Steve Bedard was victorious and qualified for the BIG EAST and IC4A championships with a throw of 62-7.25. Junior Brian McNeil qualified for the BIG EAST Championship in the mile run with a time of 4:18.63 and a second-place finish.
Saturday’s meet will be the last competition before the BIG EAST Tournament, hosted by Syracuse, Feb. 21-22 at the Carrier Dome. Of the 22 Orangemen competing this weekend, 19 are looking to qualify for the BIG EAST Tournament. Twenty-two Orangewomen will also be trying to qualify.
