SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse head women’s lacrosse coach Lisa Miller has announced the hiring of John Battaglino to the position of assistant women’s lacrosse coach. While at Bethlehem, Battaglino led the varsity squad to six Section II-Class A championships and four New York State Regional championships. Battaglino coached the team to the New York State semifinals in 2004, 2002 and 1999, and to the New York State finals in 2003. Battaglino is a six-time High School Coach of the Year by U.S. Lacrosse, earning the honor from 1999-2004, producing 14 High School All-Americans during that six-year span.
Battaglino earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Siena College in 1986. He went on to earn master’s degrees in urban and environmental planning from the University of Albany in 1992 and in secondary education from Russell Sage College in 1998.
