SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Senior Tim Scarpinato, a member of the Orange cross country team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 13.

Scarpinato has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll five of his six semesters. Scarpinato, a chemical engineering major, is a two-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star. He earned the men’s cross country team’s most improved award as a sophomore.

The Orange opened the 2004 season with a first-place team finish at the Blue Devil Invitational, Scarpinato finished fifth overall. SU returns to action on Sept. 18 at Binghamton.
