SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sophomore Shelby Perkins, a member of the Orange cross country team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 20.

Perkins was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll both of her freshman semesters. She was also named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star as a freshman. Perkins finished 12^th at the Blue Devil Invitational to open this season and placed sixth at Binghamton on Saturday, Sept. 18.

Syracuse hosts the Orange Classic on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Drumlins Golf Course. The men are scheduled to start at 10 a.m., while the women are set to begin at 10:50 a.m.
