Orange Football Meets #12 Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Syracuse football team travels to Virginia today, for its third road game in four weeks, when it takes on the University of Virginia at 3:30 p.m. This is the third meeting between the two teams. The Orange has won the previous two, most recently a 6-3 victory at Archbold Stadium in 1977.
Senior tailback Walter Reyes needs 40 yards to pass James Mungro for third place on SU’s all-time list. Sophomore Perry Patterson will make his first start at quarterback, after throwing for 156 yards and one touchdown versus Cincinnati last week.
ORANGE ON THE RADIO
The SU Radio Network broadcast of the SU/Virginia game will begin at 1:30 p.m. today. The entire broadcast can be listened to via suathletics.com. Sign up for SU Audio Streaming Now!
The pre-game show will include interviews with SU coaches George DeLeone and Steve Dunlap, as well as Head Coach Paul Pasqualoni. The show will also feature exclusive interviews with Virginia Head Coach Al Groh and Orange middle linebacker Jerry Mackey. Also, Coach Mac will talk with former Virginia coach George Welch.

If you are planning to go to the SU vs. Virginia football game this Saturday, September 25 in Charlottesville, Virginia, please join us for the Orange Friendzy, which will be held at a tent located on the Lower Lannigan Grass Area, North of University Hall, walking distance to the stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EDT (please note the game will not be televised on Saturday). Snacks and beverages will be available (while supplies last).
