SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Valerij Petrulevich, a member of the men’s track and field team, has been honored as the Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 17.

Petrulevich is a three-time Athletic Director’s Honor Roll selection. He was also a 2004 BIG EAST Academic All-Star selection. He is majoring in information studies at SU.

This past weekend at the Penn State Relays, Petrulevich was a member of the distance medley relay team, which took first place and broke a 17-year-old SU record, finishing in 9:58.07. The track and field teams travel to Ithaca, N.Y. on January 22 for the Cornell Four-Way.
